John Goulding is an architect specializing in environmentally sustainable, ecological building design. Having practiced in Ireland, Canada and the United Kingdom, he worked at the Energy Research Group in the School of Architecture, University College Dublin from 1986 to 2002. His work involved the management of research and dissemination activities promoting energy-efficient, ecologically conscious architecture and building construction throughout the European Union and Eastern European countries. His work has involved the production, as author or editor, of numerous conference papers, books, articles, brochures, presentations, lectures, videos, TV programmers and software packages. He is chairman of the Sustainability Task Force of the RIAI (Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland).

Brendan Duffy is a builder with forty years experience within the construction industry, his experience being gained as the director of one of the largest construction companies in the North East. He has had extensive experience of applying environmentally sustainable materials and design to both public and private buildings, these include Drogheda Fire and Rescue Service, completed in ’08 which incorporated the latest rain water harvesting technology and the countries most advanced combined heat and power unit. Belliver National School, an A2 rated commercial building was completed this year, he also built the Knowth passage tomb guides hut which was built from indigenous Irish timber sourced from sustainable forest and insulated with sheep’s wool from the Shetland islands. Brendan is a member of the Chartered Institute of Builders.

Stephen Duffy is currently studying towards an MSc Architecture in Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales, Europe’s leading eco centre. He completed an MSc in Planning and Development in 2006 . He has studied Business Studies at the Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, UCD and has worked in construction since graduation in 2000, he has managed large scale construction projects.
