Retrofitting is the process of bringing your home or business up to a higher standard of heating efficiency, helping you to reduce your heating bills and improve your standard of living. Existing dwellings will very often be very expensive to heat. Our recommended cladding system for typical hollow block is suitable for all wall construction types the insulation material is breathable, recyclable, and has a low carbon footprint. This is finished with a breathable acrylic, in any colour, to suit the clients taste. The typical application will achieve a U-value of 0.16 W/m2K which is well below the recommended u-value required under the SEI guidelines and for HES scheme grant approval

2. Internal

From extensive research and practical application, Mount Carrick have pioneered a dry lining wall solution for the Irish market. Our qualified technicians install up to 82.5 mm of insulation coupled with airtight membrane where appropriate. This is dependent on each individual houses particular circumstances. We also use a moisture resistant foiled back board leaving a skimmed plaster finish or a taped and rubbed finish. This method is used to avoid introducing large amounts of moisture into a habitable space which can be very unhealthy. The typical application will achieve a U-value of 0.27 W/m2K which is required under the SEI guidelines and for HES scheme grant approval

3. Cavity

Mount Carrick provide a cavity injection service where the appropriate U-values can be achieved. Warmfill will be injected into the cavity to achieve the maximum benefits dependent on the cavity size.

Attic Insulation

In accordance with the best practice and SEI guidelines Mount Carrick Environmental can carry out a complete attic insulation service to include a minimum depth of 300 mm quilting, a complete water tank insulation solution. It is also important to note that the above are requirements to be eligible for the HES scheme grant.

Our attic insulation U-value is 0.14 W/m2K achieved using two layers of 150 mm thick Rockwool insulation. This exceeds the current minimum U-value of 0.16 W/m2K in the Building Regulations.

Efficient Boilers

We will recommend a suitable high efficiency gas/oil boiler to suit the requirements of a specific home. Each boiler will be a minimum of 92% efficient and installed by qualified technicians. We can also offer a range of combination boilers which eliminate the need for a cylinder and also the use of an immersion.
